BEAUTY INSPIRED BY SIMPLICITY
Woodnotes is a Finnish design company founded by Ritva and Mikko Puotila in 1987- the first company in the world to use paper yarn in a contemporary way in functional textiles.
The original idea behind Woodnotes products is to combine artistic creativity inspired by the rigours of Finnish nature with advanced technological solutions to utilizing the basic Finnish raw materials, wood and paper.
The pure and simple design of the company’s spun paper yarn carpets, blinds and panels, home accessories, upholstery fabrics and hand-woven articles, provides an aesthetic character of everyday beauty, simplicity, harmony, and poetic spirit, a counterbalance to the hectic modern world.
Renowned for their elegant design and supreme quality, Woodnotes products, are made in Finland respecting ecological and ethic values and have been awarded several international recognitions. The carpets also feature in the design and architecture collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York..
