Dedar at Expo Milano 2015

dedar_milano expo 2015_centralArts & Foods. Rituals since 1851 is the title of the Expo pavilion set up in the city centre, inside Milan’s Triennale Museum.

Curated by art critic Germano Celant, with an installation designed by Studio Italo Rota, “Arts & Foods” recounts the multifaceted relationship between art and food starting from the first Expo through to the present day.

Dedar fabrics and wallpapers have been used in the installation to evoke various historical contexts: the printed satin Geometrie qui bouge, the velvets Splendido, Fancy and Plushy, the hand-woven silk Fanfara and the Wow wallpaper design.

“Contemporary materials come into play to dialogue with the past in its many different forms. Owing to their ability to ‘merge’ with different artistic and historical contexts, the finest velvets, decorative motifs, intricate weaves and graphical flights of fancy are amazingly effective at enhancing and framing the noblest expressions of the art of fine food and good living”.
